Changes in the contents of prosapogenin in Red ginseng (Panax ginseng) depending on the extracting conditions

This study compared the contents of prosapogenin depending on the extracting conditions of Red ginseng to provide basic information for developing Red ginseng-based functional foods. The content of ginsenoside Rg3 reached their maximum value at 24 h of extraction, followed by 36 h and 72 h of extraction at 100°C.

Comparison of Ginsenoside Contents in Different Parts of Korean Ginseng (Panax ginseng C.A. Meyer)

The present study was conducted to investigate the ginsenoside profiles of the main root, root hair, and leaf of ginseng in order to demonstrate their possible application in medicine. The total ginsenoside content of the leaf was up to 12 times than that in the main root, and the content of protopanaxadiol groups was higher than that of protopanaxatriol groups in all the samples. The leaf was ...

Comparison of Mineral Contents in Three Different Tobacco Formulations.

We identified and quantified a variety of mineral elements in 18 tobacco samples purchased from a Tunisian market. In total, 25 mineral elements have been measured in cigarettes, water pipe tobacco, and smokeless tobacco using inductively coupled plasma-optical emission spectroscopy following microwave-assisted digestion. Statistical analyses were performed using SPSSTM, version 18.0. The lowes...

Antimicrobial Activity of Nicotiana Tabacum Using Different Solvents Extracts

The present study investigates antibacterial activity of tobacco extracts from Nicotiana tabacum at different concentrations in different polar solvents. Six different extracts were prepared, using 5 different polar solvents viz., Ethanol, Ethyl acetate, n-Hexane, Acetone, Butanol and water. Four different concentrations (6, 12, 18 and 24 mg of sample disc) of each extract were subjected for pr...

Inactivation kinetics of horseradish peroxidase in organic solvents of different hydrophobicity at different water contents

The thermal stability of horseradish peroxidase suspensions was studied in three organic solvents of different hydrophobicity (dodecane, octane, and 1-octanol) at three different water contents (14.1, 55.3 and 256.2 mg water g dry protein). In these conditions, the enzyme is much more stable than in aqueous solutions (inactivation temperatures were in the range of 125–1508C). The enzyme showed ...
